Crease and large dent repair
Creases are the hardest dents to read and the hardest to work. Plenty come out completely. We'll tell you which kind you have before we start.
Why creases are different
A round ding pushes metal in evenly. A crease folds it along a line, and the fold work-hardens the steel. Working it out means relaxing that fold in small steps from both ends toward the middle, then cleaning up the high edges it left behind.
What we'll tell you up front
Some creases come out so you'd never find them. Some come out to where you'd have to know where to look. Some have stretched the metal past what paintless repair can recover and need conventional body work. You'll hear which one it is before we touch it, and if PDR isn't the right repair, we'll say so.
Body lines and edges
Dents that land on a styling line or near a panel edge are workable more often than people expect, but they take more time because the line has to come back crisp. Send a photo from an angle so we can see the reflection across the line.
Good fit
- Creases with the paint intact
- Larger, softer dents (a knee, a ladder, a basketball)
- Dents on or near body lines
Not a fit
- Creases where the paint split along the fold
- Sharp dents that stretched the metal thin
- Damage to the panel's inner structure
Common questions
Can my dent be fixed without painting?
If the paint isn't cracked or chipped, usually yes. What limits it is how sharp the dent is, whether the metal is stretched, and whether we can reach it. Text us photos and we'll tell you honestly before you come in.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the dent's size and depth, where it is on the panel, whether the panel is aluminum, and how hard it is to reach. A small door ding costs a lot less than a creased quarter panel. We give you a price before we start, and photo estimates are free.
Can I get an estimate from photos?
Yes. Text (915) 474-6669 three photos: one straight on, one from a low angle so we can see the reflection across the dent, and one from a few feet back so we can see where it is on the panel.
Send photos. Get a straight answer.
Text three photos of the dent and we'll tell you whether paintless repair will work and what it'll cost. Or skip ahead and book a time.
